Importing Designs
Click the import button in the top toolbar, or drag and drop files directly onto the canvas.
- DST files - Opens with color group assignment. Map each color to a thread from your palette.
- PES, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX, PEC, HUS, SEW and other machine formats - Opens the stitches as they were written, one block per color. Formats that store their own thread colors (PES, JEF, VP3 and most others) open in those colors; the rest ask you to assign them. These come in as finished stitches with no shapes behind them, so you can view, measure, simulate and re-export them, but not reshape them.
- SVG files - Vector shapes are converted to fill regions or run stitches with matching colors.
- PSD files - Photoshop files with visible layers are flattened and auto-digitized.
- EPS files - PostScript artwork is converted and auto-digitized.
- PNG / JPG images - Raster images are auto-digitized into fill regions. See the Auto-Digitize section for details.
Drag and Drop
Dragging an image file (PNG, JPG) onto the canvas places it as a backdrop reference image. Dragging an embroidery file (DST, PES, JEF, SVG, etc.) opens the import dialog. Dragging a .stc file loads it directly as the active design.
Exporting for Machines
Click the export button to download your design in a machine-readable format. Choose from DST (Tajima), PES (Brother), JEF (Janome), VP3 (Pfaff), or EXP (Melco). You can also adjust scale, centering, and auto-trim settings before exporting.
Saving and Loading
The .stc format is StitchConsole's own save format. It preserves everything about your design including all objects, threads, hoop settings, and backdrop images. Use Save to download and Load to open a .stc file.
